Ephraim Schwartz's recent Reality Check column reminded me of the fairly courageous approach that Sun Microsystems has taken towards corporate communications in the public arena: offer each employee the opportunity to publish a weblog, and trust the employee to exercise proper discretion in their public remarks. Sun should be applauded for this kind of openness, and I hope that more companies will follow suit. It sure beats reading their press releases...
